Chocolate Coconut Bun Rolls

Choco cocnut bun

This is a new twist to cinnamon bun rolls. I decided to do something different from the classic cinnamon rolls and it turned out to be very palatable. Cooking is all about confidence, having fun and creativity; to cap it all, it brings the family together and keeps us happy. This is what I enjoy and look forward to when cooking.

To serve this, I drizzled warm maple syrup on top of it, hmm… to bring it up to a climax.

Folks, let’s get cooking!

4 cups of flour

1/2 cup of sugar

1 tsp of salt

2 1/4 tsp of instant dry yeast

1 1/2 cups of milk

1 stick of butter

1 tsp of vanilla

1 eggs

3-4 tbs of coconut butter

3/4 cup of milk chocolate chips (or any type of milk chocolate you have available)

Attach the dough hook to the mixer

In the mixing bowl add the flour, sugar, salt, yeast and stir it ( remember to put the salt on the side of the bowl, so that it doesn’t get to the yeast because it deactivates the yeast)

Warm the milk with the butter in the microwave for 1 minute

Add the warm mixture to the dry ingredients

Add the eggs and vanilla

Turn on the mixer and mix for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is well combined stretchy and smooth

Let it rest for 10 minutes

Roll out the dough to a rectangular shape and at about 1/2 inch thickness

Mix all the filling ingredients except the chocolate

Smear the filling mixture on the rolled out dough

Sprinkle the chocolate chips

Roll the dough into a log

With a sharp knife cut the dough width wise

Oil the baking dish or casserole dish and place the rolls about 1 1/2 inches apart

Leave it in a warm place to rise (i usually put mine in a warm oven to make it faster)

Bake in 375 degrees oven for 14 minutes

Serve with warm maple syrup or serve as it is.
